Cookies, Cookies, CookiesCreating delicious decorated sugar cookies is what I do and love. Whether you’re wanting to treat a friend to custom cookies, have them as a party favor, make them an event centerpiece, or something in between, you’ll show everyone how much you care with these beautiful and flavor-packed cookies. The intentional selection of ingredients is the key to the unique and rotating flavors, but a classic lemon and, personal favorite, chocolate hazelnut are always available. A fully decorated custom cookie set allows you to make your life events a little more memorable. Scubs Kitchen also offers decorate-it-your (DIY) kits and paint-your-own (PYO) cookie kits. Both of these are great activities to let your inner cookie artist shine without having to turn on your oven.
Scubs KitchenScubs, a made-up word to reflect my personality’s ridiculousness, has come to be the name my partner lovingly calls me. Scubs Kitchen came as an invitation into my kitchen to taste the flavors of my imagination.
I have been baking all my life for friends and family, but 2020’s pandemic left me with extra time to hone my royal icing skills. Through classes—online—and many hours of practice, I began turning my hobby into a cottage business and officially launched it in September 2021. Based out of my Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington D.C., my kitchen has turned into a fully licensed bakeshop, providing delicious sugar cookies to those with watering mouths.
A cookie is nothing without quality ingredients. From the very beginning, I knew I would make cookies responsibly and ethically sourced that I would be proud to sell, knowing my customers would be purchasing the very best. For instance, my flour is sourced from a variety of local mills and the chocolate comes from the farmer-owned Divine Chocolate.
Who’s In The KitchenHi! Now that I’ve told you about my cookies and my business, I’ll introduce myself. I’m Paige Sholar. A Colorado native, I moved to the DMV area in 2015. I work in International Development Philanthropy working with African countries, my dream career. When I’m not baking or in the office, I like to spend my time hiking, enjoying my friends’ company, and exploring new restaurants and breweries.
